It must be true.

It’s said “It’s the second mouse that gets the cheese.” It has to be true; in this case the cheese was nowhere to be seen!

Infrared!

I haven’t been doing much with Infrared Photography. Time to start looking for some dramatic summer skies and prominent foliage scenes. This one from Route 28 approaching Ossipee.

Aw, shucks! The back fell off my big wingback recliner. Definitely not a DIY fix, and I remembered how difficult it was to get the thing through the door and up the stairs. What do do? What to do?     Well, I decided to take the thing apart. It turned out one of the toughest jobs I’ve ever tackled; says a lot for the quality of the chair!    Believe it or not, the thing is now in the trunk of my car — and off to the dump tomorrow.

The daylilies have been a delight this year. I have eight or ten varieties, none of which are nicer than this (possibly) Aubrey Johnson.

Apologia

It’s been years! I’ve been spending a lot of time on my Facebook Page and have totally neglected the website and the blog. I’m still making puzzles now and then — only upon request. And I’m delighted to have a chance to make one!’

Now that I’m back, I resolve to do better and at least keep updating the Blog.

Still cutting puzzles.

I’m still cutting puzzles, but not very often. I always welcome a chance to get back to the saw. My grandsons’s girlfriend asked me to make a puzzle for Matt. She said he likes Escher and sent me an image to work with. I was unaware that Escher’s work was supposed to make sense, but Meghna says this is Escher’s view of what the world would be like with three gravities working at the same time, but not together. It made a great puzzle!

I’m back!

It’s been a long while. In fact, I had a bit of trouble finding access to my own site. I can honestly claim to have been busy, but that’s hardly an excuse; one can always be just bit busier. My two acres keep me busy summer and winter, but I’ve kept my camera handy and will try to add some more interesting photos.

Itty bitty spider

DSC_2251 copy

Less than a half inch overall, he’d be pretty formidable if much larger. The ring flash is reflected in the eyes; it’s a neat tool and works well in conjunction with a Nikkor “Micro” lens. I’ve not spotted any really large spiders this summer, and there have certainly been fewer dragonflies around. Click the image to enlarge.

New member of the family

Herschel has made himself right at home. He has apparently been a house cat for most of his life, and it’s has been fun to watch him explore and get used to the great out-of-doors. He’s gentle and affectionate, not at all shy with strangers, a bit vocal at times and just a joy to have around.
